Workshops are a key part of the Collie Creates experience, offering the community a chance to come together, learn, and be inspired. Throughout the festival, a wide range of creative sessions take place — guided by local and visiting artists who are passionate about sharing their skills and ideas.
Whether it’s something hands-on, expressive, or just plain fun, our workshops add colour and connection to the festival atmosphere.

Art With glass
Join local Artisan Maurice Moore for a 2 day workshop to create your very own glass art.
Where: Forest St; next to Collie Artist Den
When: 4 workshop dates available
Time: 9am- 3pm over both days
Price: $380 per person (2 days)
Note: This is an 18+ workshop but juniors are welcome with a paying parent/guardian
Maurice Moore is an ex safety professional/miner who has had a long time love of stained glass. He is a local artisan who creates one off bespoke pieces, revives old damaged/broken items through to large commissioned pieces like windows, doors in the traditional way. His workshop is next to Collie Artists Den and this is where he will be running his 2 day stained glass workshops. Each participant will get a kit of their choice and use Maurices tools and consumables to create their very own masterpiece. Drop in or call Collie Artists Den for more details.
sara angelique pottery

Time: 10.00am- 12.00pm
Price: $80 per person
Meet Sara Angelique Pottery, an Allanson-based ceramic artist who loves creating beautiful, functional pottery and helping others discover the joy of getting creative with clay
At this hands-on workshop, ticket holders will have the chance to hand-build their very own cup or mug — creating something unique that you can actually use and treasure.
Your piece will then be fired and glazed by Sara, ready for you to collect and use in approximately 6–8 weeks. ✨
Whether you’re completely new to pottery or already love getting your hands dirty with clay, this is the perfect opportunity to slow down, get creative and make something with your own two hands.
Making life easier with canva (without canva pro!)
Where: Collie Art Gallery, 134 Throssell Street
When: Monday 14 September
Time: 5.30pm - 7.30pm
Price: $30 per person
Perfect for anyone using Canva’s free version who wants to discover just how much you can do without a Pro subscription.
Attendees must have their business/club logo, branding, design etc. Please bring your laptop or device with Canva already downloaded and your own log in details.
Kym is the creative powerhouse behind Adventure Connections Collie and a bit of a local Canva wizard.
Whether you’re creating social media posts, flyers, posters or promotional material for a business, community group, sporting club or not-for-profit, Kym will show you how to make Canva work harder for you.
These hands-on sessions are designed to take some of the frustration out of designing and help you create polished, eye-catching material with confidence.
There are two different workshops, depending on which version of Canva you use:

Join Donna Whittney from Silverwood Studio & Flowers for a relaxed and creative resin workshop at her beautiful Harris River studio.
Donna is a self-taught resin artist who has been creating with resin for the past 6–7 years and loves sharing her passion with others. Surrounded by the gardens of Silverwood Studio & Flowers, you’ll be guided through the process of working with resin to create your own resin cheese board and coasters.

Known for its bold, colourful and wonderfully individual approach to creativity, Doodle Den Inc is bringing that same playful energy to this relaxed workshop.
You’ll be guided through the process of creating your own string art project, with a demonstration, design tips and step-by-step tuition along the way. Whether you’re already crafty or simply keen to try something completely new, no previous experience is needed.

As part of Collie Creates 2026, Christy Kearsley from Little Blue Door invites you to an evening of Paint ’n Sip Roulette — a creative experience with plenty of surprises, laughs and fun along the way.
This isn’t your traditional paint-and-sip class. Throughout the evening, random prompts, games and unexpected twists will help dictate your artwork. You won’t quite know where your masterpiece is heading — and that’s all part of the fun!
No artistic experience is needed. Just bring your sense of adventure and be prepared to embrace the unexpected.
Learn the art of creating a picture-perfect grazing box in this delicious hands-on masterclass. Guided by the team from Tailored Grazing, participants will discover tips and tricks for arranging, styling, and balancing flavours while designing their own grazing box.
Everything is supplied, and at the end of the workshop you’ll take home your beautifully curated box (serves 2–4) – ready to share or enjoy yourself!

Join Jill, a qualified florist from The Collie Florist, for a beautiful hands-on floristry workshop where you’ll learn, create and wrap your very own spiral bouquet, perfectly suited to display in a vase.
You’ll then use a gorgeous mix of fresh and preserved blooms to create your own front-facing floral arrangement in a box — something beautiful to take home and enjoy.

Create Your Own Gorgeous Garland with Sally Goddard!
Sally enjoys running her own market stall business, designing and creating all kinds of unique and beautiful headwear.
In this hands-on workshop, Sally will guide participants step-by-step through creating their very own gorgeous botanical garland. This workshop is perfect for beginners, with Sally making sure no one feels overwhelmed along the way!
